Dahua Fingerprint and Face Recognition Scanning (VTO Touch Screen ONLY)

The VTO7541G comes with some great features such as face recognition and fingerprint scanning but there are some caveats to enablng this on your system.

Facial Recognition

The facial recognition can be setup in two ways:

  1. local with PIN
  2. remote with image upload

Local with PIN

The local method with pin is the simplest but means anyone with the PIN can then manage and delete other units face scans. This presents a management issue which the EC should consider.

Remote image upload

The remote method is available but hasn't been properly tested by Blitz Security yet. This involves taking an adequate photo of a user and uploading it to the web interface of the intercom door station. Once again this means the user has total control over everything in the door station so requires a nominated person to manage this and the overheads which come with that and the EC should consider this carefully.

Fingerprint Recognition

The fingerprint recognition can only be registered locally with a PIN. Please see above considerations for this.

Blitz Security recommend the EC think carefully about these options before as they both require considerable management overhead to register and deregister should tenants/owners leave. Also having a PIN available on the unit leaves it open for misuse by others especially if it's not more than 4 characters long and complex.
